Located in West Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, Capilano Golf and Country Club is spread over 160 acres of mountainside, encompassing wildlife, ponds, a creek and forests that contain 20,000 trees. Stu Sheridan, AGS
Stu was promoted to his current position in 2019 after spending 6 years at Capilano in the Assistant Superintendent and Second Assistant Superintendent positions. His formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture which he obtained in 2011.
Prior to coming to Capilano he had work experience in 3 countries at various courses including Nass GC in Ireland, Muirfield Village GC, Arnold Palmer's Bay Hill Club in the United States and Seymour G&CC in Canada.
He has worked and volunteered at several professional tournaments including the 2010 Ladies Irish Open, the 2011 Solheim Cup, the 2012 Senior Players Championship, the 2012 Memorial Tournament, the 2013 Arnold Palmer Invitational and most recently the 2018 US Open at Shinnecock Hills GC.
In addition to graduating from the Green Start Academy in 2015, he has sat on national committees that initiated the first CGSA Assistant Superintendent of the year award and organized conference networking events. He is also a former winner of the BCGSA's article of the year award.
In addition to golf, Stu enjoys playing soccer and spending time with his wife Sue, young son Finn and young daughter Fiadh.

Who they are
Tom has been at Capilano since 1978 and is familiar with virtually every piece of pipe under the ground.
He is a golfer, sports fanatic and father to daughter Kolby and son Cameron.
Sarah obtained her Masters in Plant Biology from Arizona State University and has been part of the team since 2017.
She spends the majority of her time away from work with her active family which includes husband Bryan, daughter Rachael and sons Grayson and Matthew.
Having moved to Canada from France, he and his girlfriend Laura are keen to learn English.
His background in mechanics have made for a smooth transition to his position within the team.
Joey has been climbing since 2016 and has a degree in Environmental Studies from York University.
She is passionate about climbing and is enthusiastic about learning all there is to know about trees in British Columbia.
Rob is following his fathers' footsteps in the profession of Turfgrass Managment. Having spent time on Vancouver Island at Arbutus Ridge Golf Club and as President of the Turf Club at Olds College, Rob had a very successful internship at Capilano during the 2019 season.
Rob showed a great work ethic and dedication during his internship and was promoted to the Environmental Coordinator position for the 2020 season.
